The Protect Girls’ Sports Initiative

The Protect Girls’ Sports Initiative would require athletes to play for the sport that aligns with their sex recorded at birth — not their expressed gender.

This amendment to Nevada’s Constitution will protect female athletes and level the playing field in girls’ sports.

What does the petition do?

Protect competitive fairness in girls’ and women’s sports

Maintain a level playing field by ensuring divisions reflect biological differences that affect athletic performance.

Preserve equal opportunity for female athletes

Protect access to roster spots, scholarships, and championships intended for women and girls.

Provide clear, consistent statewide standards

Establish uniform rules for publicly funded programs to reduce confusion and inconsistent policies.

Maintain access while protecting categories

Ensure opportunities remain available for all athletes while preserving female competition.
